Privacy Policy
This explains what information Ink Network ("we," "us") handles when you use InkAds, and what it means for people who see ads served by InkAds on other websites. In short: InkAds does not track people. It picks ads by the page they appear on, sets no cookies on publishers' sites, and builds no profile of anyone who views an ad.
1. People who see ads on a publisher's site
When a page that uses InkAds loads, your browser asks our servers for an ad and tells us when it was shown or clicked. To do that and to keep the service safe, this is what happens:
- What we use. The ad request tells us which site and placement is asking. Your browser also sends technical details, like your IP address and browser type, as it does to any website. We use your IP address only to deliver the request and to limit abuse, and we use the browser type only to skip known bots.
- Abuse limits. To cap how many ads one visitor can trigger per day, we turn your IP address into a one-way hash that is mixed with a secret and the date. The hash changes every day, so it cannot be matched from one day to the next, and it is not stored as an IP address. These counters are deleted automatically once they are about two days old. Cleanup runs as the service is used.
- Counts. We record how many impressions, clicks and rewards each placement, campaign and ad got each day. These are totals, not records of individual people.
- In your browser. The script remembers, in your browser's local storage, which ads you have already seen today so it can respect frequency limits. It never sets cookies. The only thing it sends to us from this is the list of campaign IDs that already reached their daily limit, so they are not shown again.
- What we do not do. We do not use cookies or fingerprinting, we do not follow you across sites, we do not build interest profiles, and we do not sell or share viewer data for advertising.
Ad links are signed and expire after 30 minutes. If you click an ad, you go to the advertiser's own website, which has its own privacy practices. We tell the advertiser nothing about you, and we send no referrer when redirecting.
2. Publishers and advertisers
If you have an InkAds account, we hold:
- Account details: your name, email address, and a salted, hashed password (we never store the password itself).
- Your setup: sites and placements, site keys, campaigns, ad copy, links, and images you upload.
- Money records: balances, earnings, and a ledger of changes, kept for accounting.
- Reports: daily totals by site, placement, campaign and ad. Advertisers and publishers see only totals for their own campaigns and sites.
- Security data: sign-in sessions (14 days), and short-lived records of failed sign-in attempts as a hash of your email and IP address, kept about a day to slow guessing.
- Invites: which invite code was used to create an account.
Never put personal information in the ctx value used for rewarded ads. It is placed inside signed tokens that pass through our servers. Use an opaque ID. We do not store it.
3. Cookies and browser storage
- Dashboard sign-in cookie (
ink_s). Needed to keep you signed in. It is HttpOnly, secure and lasts up to 14 days. It is set only on ads.inknetworks.site, and only when you sign in. - Session storage in the dashboard holds small preferences for your tab, and shows a new reward secret once.
- Local storage on publisher sites (
inkads:caps), described above. - InkAds sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
4. How we use information
To run the service (choose and serve ads, count and bill them, pay publishers); to review ads and sites; to prevent fraud, abuse and attacks; to keep accounts secure; to give you reports; to contact you about your account, and to comply with the law. We do not use it for anything else.
5. Who we share it with
- Cloudflare hosts InkAds, including its database. Requests reach it through Cloudflare's network, which handles IP addresses and request details under its own policies. It acts for us and does not own this data.
- Advertisers and publishers see reports for their own activity, as totals. Publishers also receive signed proofs for rewards that were earned on their sites.
- Authorities and others if the law requires it, to enforce our Terms, or to protect people and the service.
- A successor if Ink Network is merged, sold or reorganized, with this policy kept in force.
We do not sell personal information.
6. How long we keep it
- Hashed abuse counters: about two days. Failed sign-in records: about a day. Used-once ad tokens: about an hour after they expire.
- Sign-in sessions: up to 14 days, or until you sign out.
- Account data: while your account is open. When you ask us to close it we delete what we are not required or allowed to keep.
- Money records and daily totals: as long as needed for accounting, fraud prevention and legal reasons.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete the information we hold about you, or close your account, by emailing support@inknetworks.site. We may need to verify who you are. We reply within the time the law requires. If you disagree with our answer, tell us and we will review it. Because ad views are not tied to you, we usually cannot find or change anything about a visitor from an ad view. Browser tools can clear local storage at any time, and nothing breaks if you do.
8. Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, ad tokens and reward proofs are cryptographically signed, uploaded images are checked and served in a locked down way, and access to other people's accounts is blocked. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please tell us promptly about any problem you find.
9. Children
You must be at least 13 to have an InkAds account. Many people who see ads on sites that use InkAds may be young. For that reason InkAds does not profile, target or follow viewers, and our Ad policies bar ads that are not suitable for a young audience. Publishers remain responsible for the rules that apply to their own sites. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Where information is handled
Ink Network is based in Japan, and InkAds runs on Cloudflare's global network, so information may be processed in other countries, including the United States, where privacy laws can differ from yours.
11. Changes and contact
We will post any change here and change the date above. For material changes we will also tell account holders. Questions and requests: Ink Network, 3-chome-8-8 Sotokanda, Chiyoda City, Tokyo 101-0021, Japan, or support@inknetworks.site.
